Website copy for a headshot, family + pet photographer.

You know when your website just won’t do anymore? You’ve outgrown it. John was there. His website at the time was feeling out-of-date, out-of-sync and a bit mishmash (like when you add lots of random pages!). John was ready for a new website – and he hired the incredible Alex Vita (specialist website designer for photographers) to bring his vision to life. That’s when John realised…. his copy was lacking. SEO was a biggie, but also his message and brand voice felt wishy-washy. That’s when he reached out to me.

“I am just so thrilled with what you have put together. The text really captures who I am and I really love the cohesiveness between my different services pages. Reading through the different services, everything is tied together with a common narrative and common theme and you really nailed down what I was trying to get across to my potential clients.”

Here's what John had to say:

A bold brand voice, a super-clear message + awesome local SEO

As a Rochester NY photographer, John needed to show up for all those location-based searches. SEO was at the forefront of this project, but neer EVER diluted our attention to his messaging, brand voice and overall website copy.

John is a great guy. I immeditaltely clicked with his humour – who doesn’t love a dad joke?! – and we brought that alive in his copy. With an overall message of: relax, have fun + get awesome photos. Our goal was to connect with John’s ideal client in a relaxed, easy way – and the copy definitely does that, while ensuring a clear ‘inquire here!’ strategy (US spelling for a US client, of course!).

A taster of the website copy I wrote

When I tell clients to go bold, this one did it ten-fold. We even had jokes about Uncle Brian’s chest hair, Labradors making inquiries and I won’t even tell you some of the comments during the feedback process!

I have never laughed out loud as much as I did when working into John’s copy.

Are you thinking: It’s my turn, now?

No more making do. More making it happen.

Strategic website copywriting has been the key to turning my client’s vision-board dreams into a living, breathing reality.
